In order to help children settle into Reception, we take a fluid and flexible approach, with our main priority being to build strong, positive relationships with each child. We spend lots of time talking, getting to know the children and developing these important relationships, as this is paramount to children feeling safe, secure and confident in their new environment. We also spend a significant amount of time modelling positive behaviours, interactions and play. Below is an example of a typical day during Autumn 1 in Reception. However, we remain flexible and adapt the timetable appropriately to best meet the individual needs and interests of our children.
