Star of the Week

We have had another great week this week with everybody working so well but we had to pick just one child for star of the week.

This week it is ...

She is a joy to teach! Every day that she enters the school she wears a bright, happy smile. It is great to see a child who loves to learn as much as this child does. We have all been really impressed with her attitude since she started in year 5. She shown a real determination across all curriculum areas.

She has also really impressed all the adults in class during this week maths sessions with some excellent explanations and some wonderful mathematical discussions.

She really is a ‘Delightful Dragon’, who sets a brilliant example for others to follow. She always follows school rules, always tries her hardest and is always kind and polite.                                                                        She is a true ray of sunshine within our class.

We tried some things  we hadn't tasted before and some things that we had.

Some of us loved everything while others found it wasn't quite to their taste.

It was fun, enjoyable and educational.

He never fails to complete a piece of work and always does this to the best of his ability. He has particularly impressed me in maths this week. He struggled a little with one of the concepts taught but rather than giving up he tried even harder. He worked in a small group and not only figured out how to solve the problem, with a little help, but then helped others in the group to understand.

We really enjoy having him in our class. He is a real pleasure to teach and I know he is going to continue to have a super year!

She sets the standard behaviour for our class and  shows others what a great Dragon looks like.

We really enjoy having her in our class and know she is going to continue to have a great year!

Over the next few weeks and months others will be chosen to have a go at either Forest Schools or gardening.

Narrative Writing

'We are reading Roald Dahl's 'The Minpins' in English. To help us feel what the characters feel we talked through the story using P4C and then we acted out entering the 'Forest of Sin', on the field, near the trees. Hopefully this should help us as we write on Monday.

I can't wait to read the writing they produce.
