After the Easter holidays we will be learning about mythical creatures and using our imaginations to pretend and create imaginary beings.
Our new topic is - Is there a monster under my bed?
Our main focus for the term is to promote Literacy / story telling skills and to use our Expressive Arts and Design skills, especially our imagination.

Over the Easter holidays I would like your child to begin to think about fantasy creatures by watching the following short film about The Gruffalo.

Can your child use words to describe The Gruffalo to you?
I would like you to have a go at creating a Gruffalo character for yourselves. You could paint, draw or colour The Gruffalo. You could have a go at junk modelling and painting the Gruffalo, or you could make The Gruffalo from play dough. If you want to get outside, why not have a go at making a large scale Gruffalo or using chalks to draw him on the floor. Don't forget to talk about what he looks like and use lots of describing words with your childen.
When you have finished making your Gruffalo please take a picture and send it to us using Evidence Me. I can't wait to see what you create!
