Smartie subtraction for Children in Need Day.
We wore spots for Children in Need today and did some spotty maths too. With smarties and straws we practiced our subtracting skills by using them for tens and ones. It was tricky working out what to do when we needed to exchange a straw for ten smarties! Our calculating had improved by the end of the lesson - eating our apparatus may have been an incentive!
