    Koalas - History

23 September 2019 (by Mrs Marsh (koalas))

    We have been mini archaeologists!

The children discussed the role of archaeologists before becoming mini archaeologists themselves. The children dug up some Stone Age artefacts – ensuring that they were careful. We used sieves so that we didn’t miss anything as well as brushes, to carefully clean the artefacts. We discussed what the children had found. The children were amazed to discover that they had found woolly mammoth teeth, flint, a fish harpoon, arrowheads, a Neolithic knife and a clay pot!

This helped us to answer last week’s question, ‘Why are archaeologists so valuable in helping us find out about history?’

Ask your children what they can remember about the lesson.
