R.E. Workshop

Mrs Beresford organised an Islam workshop from Derby Open Centre to continue our R.E. lessons about Muslims. We investigated the similarities and differences between our celebrations and those on the Muslim lunar calendar. We sampled some treats to celebrate Eid, tried on some Eid party clothes and discovered a little about Muslim beliefs. Sana Khan was impressed with our behaviour and how much we already knew about Islam. We asked some thoughful questions and had a super time learning how Muslims celebrate at special times of the year. A reminder that this Tuesday is our meerkat Mexico Day! Pupils will be completing their Big Question work this term with some fun Mexico learning including food tasting. Pupils can come into school on Tuesday wearing something Mexico inspired, if they wish. Mexico outfits are a tricky one, so a skeleton Halloween costume to link with the Day of the Dead would be great or something red, white or green to represent the Mexican flag.
