The children have been busy making their own sandwiches!
Our focus text for the past two week has been Oliver's Vegetables. Oliver only likes to eat chips and only tried vegetables because of a deal he made with his grandad.
This week we received a letter from Oliver asking for our help. He wants us to write instructions on how to make a sandwich. We decided that the children should learn to make their own sandwich before writing instructions. First, the children wrote shopping lists with all of the ingredients Miss Gill would need to buy from the shop and then the following day we made our sandwiches. The adults were very impressed with the children's sandwich making skills. The children were amazing at spreading, grating and slicing.
The children loved eating their sandwiches at snack time and they were so proud that they had made them!
Over the next few days the children will be writing instructions on how to make a sandwich, ready to send to Oliver.
