    FOS: Race Night

21 February 2020 (by J Walmsley (mr walmsley))

The Friends of Stonebroom Community Race Night takes place on Friday 6th March at 8pm.

The Friends of Stonebroom Community Race Night takes place on Friday 6th March at 8pm. Tickets are priced at just £1! It would be great to see as many of you as possible!

This annual event has helped raise the FOS over £500 every time it has been run and we would love to keep up this tradition.

Here are some of the frequently asked questions:

When and where does the event take place?

The event takes place on Friday 6th March. It will take place at the Stonebroom Community Centre (next to the school) and doors will be open from 8pm.

How much are tickets and where can I get them from?

Tickets are priced at just £1 and can be bought from the school playground, the school office or paid on the door. The ticket includes a free hotdog.

Can we just turn up on the night?

Our advice to you is to buy tickets in advance so you won’t be disappointed. There are 100 tickets available and over the last three years, we have sold between 80-90 tickets on average. Buying a ticket will secure your space.

Will children be allowed to attend?

Of course they can! The night is open to everybody! The only thing that we ask is that all children are accompanied by an adult.

    Will there be a bar?

Unfortunately, due to licencing laws, we are not able to offer a bar however, we are more than happy for you to bring your own alcohol. There will be a tuck shop on the night where hot and cold drinks will be made available.

    Will food be available?

There will be a tuck shop available throughout the night selling crisps and snacks. Hot dogs and mushy peas and mint sauce will also be available to buy. Don’t forget, everyone is entitled to a free hot dog with their ticket!

Who can I speak to if I require more details?

Any member of the Friends of Stonebroom will be more than willing to assist with your enquiry. You could contact: Lisa Fenlon, Suzanne Greenhalgh, Joanne Hardy, Caroline Nash, Laura Stevenson, Ami Harrison, Charlotte Thornley and Ali Barnes. If it is easier to speak to a member of the school staff, then please feel free to speak to Mr Walmsley or Miss Johal.

Finally, how does race night work?

Contrary to the views of some children, no horses will be running around the community centre! There will be 8 pre-recorded races to place your bets against in a fun filled family night of entertainment. All profits from the evening will be donated to the school.
