Stonebroom Primary And Nursery School

We started by walking down to the site, some of us dropping pebbles, some of us dropping breadcrumbs, just like the characters in our story. We now know why Hansel and Gretel couldn't get home when they dropped the bread as it wasn't long before our forest school chickens were munching away on the trail we had left! We did say hello to the other animals as we passed by and gave the goats their morning feed. Once in the forest we participated in many exciting activities. Using the natural resources around us we made child stew- based on the recipe we found in our crime scene last week. With Miss Thompson we decorated dens like the gingerbread house in our story, using brilliant language and communication skills. With Miss Rowland we even used tools (potato peelers) to whittle sticks and create the characters from our story. Finally we acted out parts of the story using great expression and body language.
