Elephants- Summer 221 May 2026 (by Miss Rowland (elephants)) |
We can't believe that we are entering into the final term of Year One- time really does fly when you're having fun!
We have a fantastic final big question to explore- 'How has Paddington Bear changed over time?'
Please follow the link below to see what we will be up to and the sticky vocabulary we will be focusing on.
A few notices for the coming term:
- To kickstart our question, children are welcome to bring in a toy from home the first Monday back. We will be using these in our History lesson, exploring the material they are made from and what they can do. Please do not send anything expensive in and make sure their toys are in a named bag for ease.
- The phonics screening check will take place the second week back. Any flashcard/ word practice you can do with your child over the next couple of weeks will be beneficial.
- Children will have PE on Tuesdays and Fridays next term. They are to come to school in PE kits on both days.
- Instead of a pre-learning task, children are asked to make a car ready for our drive in cinema at the end of term (details on the knowledge organiser)
- As the warmer weather comes (yay!) we would advise children have a sunhat and suncream available in their bags.
Thank you for your continued support, we really are having the best year with your children and they make us proud every day. We hope you have a wonderful break.
The Year 1 team.
