    Elephants- Homework expectations

7 January 2024 (by Miss Rowland (elephants))

As we start a new term, I thought I would remind you of the homework expectations in Year One.

    • Children are to read at least three times per week. Reading at home really does make a difference to the progress that they make. We try really hard to make sure the children's books match the phonics they are doing in school so reading at home is a good opportunity to practice their phonics skills. Once your child has read their book three times, please remind them to pop it in the box so we know that it needs changing. Your child's book and reading record should ALWAYS be in their book bag so we can also read with them in school.
    • Phonics pet homework is handed out on a Thursday. This must be handed in by the following Wednesday for your child to get their stamp.
    • Maths homework is set on SeeSaw on a Thursday. This must be completed by the following Wednesday.

I keep a log of the homework completed, therefore if you ever have any issues please contact me so we can sort a solution together.

Thank you for your continued support.

    Miss Rowland
