Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 Anti-Bullying Poster Campaign

The week commencing 14th November 2022 was anti– bullying week at Stonebroom. It is very important to teach children exactly what bullying is and how to deal with it. This year the theme was ‘Reach Out.’ Kindness is more important today than it has ever been.

During anti– bullying week we teach the children that  Bullying is the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others. The behaviour is often repeated and habitual.  It can happen anywhere (including on-line.) They are taught what to do if they believe that they are being bullied and also that they have a duty to help others should they see bullying taking place.

Our school council representatives  from Y2 & Y5 visited Tibshelf Community School in November and worked with other schools to discuss anti-bullying and how to prevent online bullying—they then presented what they had found to the school in an assembly.

We have a Learning Mentor (Mrs Attenborough) who is always available to listen. We have an Anti-Bullying Governor, Mrs Fenlon, who keeps up to date with the latest anti-bullying procedures. Leaflets are available on the leaflet stand. There are also child friendly anti-bullying leaflets available.

The winners of the anti-bullying poster campaign each won a certificate and a book, which were presented by a Governor. These posters are now displayed around school to remind our pupils that we are a ‘Telling’ school and that bullying is not acceptable anywhere or at any time.
