    World Nursery Rhyme Week

15 November 2020 (by Mrs Beresford (monkeys))

From Monday 16th November until Friday 20th November is World Nursery Rhyme Week.

"If a child knows 8 nursery rhymes by heart by the time they are 4 years old, they are usually among the best readers and spellers in their class by the time they are 8."

Singing nursery rhymes is really important and something we do a lot of in our Early Years Foundation Stage.

They help to boost children's vocabulary and language development as well as helping children to develop literacy skills. They are also a fun way to support early numeracy.

Nursery rhymes help children develop social, physical and emotional skills.

If you would like to find out more or get involved with World Nursery Rhyme Week please follow the link below.

Each day there is a new nursery rhyme to learn and sing together. There are free resources for you to access and use with your children.

    Have fun singing!

    Best wishes.

    Mrs Beresford.
