    Giraffes - Autumn 2

5 November 2023 (by Mrs Marshall (giraffes))

I hope you all had a wonderful half term break!

I'm looking forward to welcoming you all back tomorrow after your half term break.

I have updated the class page on the website with all the information you will need for the next half term. Please take some time to explore the Big Question page where you will find all the planning and information for our new science focussed Big Question, 'Could our planet survive without plants?'

Under the 'Letters' section of the class page, you will find instructions on how to access myOn, please do try and take the time to have a look at this as it is a fantastic resource to aid your child's reading at home.

I have also uploaded the homework letter which was emailed to all parents of Key Stage 2 children at the start of the academic year, outlining homework expectations. Please remember, home consists of:

    • 30 minutes reading over the week - this can be three ten minute sessions or one thirty minute session, however you wish to complete it. It is important that you write how long your child reads for each time you record it as this all counts towards earning reading certificates in assembly. Any book read at home can be recorded, it does not have to be the school reading book.
    • 15 minutes of TT Rockstars - Your child must play at least one Studio game as this is how we record homework. After this, they can explore the app how they wish.
    • 15 minutes (three games) on EdShed under the assignments tab.

Log in details for these apps are in the front of your child's reading record.

If homework is not completed, this will be recorded and will count towards loss of time of the end of the half term treat.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow!

    Mrs. Marshall
