Outdoor Learning at Stonebroom

In July 2023, school council members from all of the local schools came to Stonebroom Primary & Nursery School to enjoy some outdoor learning. They met all the animals in the animal park before moving onto the local woods to take part in some Forest School activities. the feedback from all of the staff and pupils was really positive - they all had a great afternoon.

Staying positive

Pupil parliament met at Westhouses school for a discussion on how to keep a positive mindset and look after your mental health. We looked at the effects of overloading your brain, as well as work around emotions. It was a fun, yet informative day and was lead fabulously by the members of Westhouses School Council.

Online Safety

Today, Mrs. Marshall took a few school council representatives to discuss online safety. We researched how to stay safe online before presenting our finding to the rest of the groups. This was quite a scary thing to do but we did a super job and shared the interesting information we had discovered. We are now going to go back to our school and hold an assembly for the whole school.

Meet the new members of your school council!

These children were voted in by their peers as it was felt that they would make a positive contribution to the school.

Well done and I look forward to our first meeting!

Our new mural

Wow! How fantastic is our new mural on the playground?

I would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic members of our school council for having this idea initially, and then having the determination and perseverance to see the project through until the end.

They should be wonderfully proud of themselves for what they have achieved and I think you will agree that this beautiful painting, incorporating all our class animals really brightens up the playground.

Thank you!

I would just like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful School Council members for organising such a fantastic disco. Without them, we wouldn't have had any sweet bags to hand out and they were so helpful on the night, on the food and drink tables and even tidying up afterwards. The money raised will go towards the new art work we would like on the playground.

Thank you once again!

Your school needs you!

Stonebroom School Council are looking for new members to help make a difference in your school.

Do you  want to have a say in decisions that are made that affect your school?

Could you be the voice of your class?

If you feel you are up to the job of representing your class, ask your teacher for the class to consider you.

Your class will then anonymously vote for who they feel will be the best representative.

All votes will be counted on Friday 17th September so check back here to see who the successful candidates have been....
