Five Pits Pupil Parliament

In our Five Pits Pupil Parliament there are 12 schools. We meet every term in a different school to discuss different issues.

First Pupil Parliament Meeting - Anti-bullying Week

Some members of the School Council and Mrs Hobot attended the first meeting at Heath. We had an interesting visit and got to see what the other schools in the area had been doing for Anti-Bullying/Friendship week. We all created a friendship hand which will be incorporated to make a Kindness Heart, showing everyone the importance of caring for others. Take a look at some of the photos from the meeting - we came away with lots of new ideas we would like to implement in our school too.

Spring Term Meeting - World Book Day

Three members of the school council along with Mrs Hobot, attended the Spring meeting of the pupil parliament. The theme was World Book Day. We listened to a extract from the book 'Evie and the Animals' by Matt Haig. Next we designed some animals which the main character could have spoken to and then we talked about what the animals would have said to Evie. We really enjoyed this session and hope to display our book characters in our school library.
